What about allergic responses to the Realine aligners?
Answer: The incidence of true allergic response to the Realine trays is extremely low. If you are allergic to plastic, you should probably not proceed with Realine. The trays are made from "a proprietary construction of bio-compatible medical grade thermoplastics that are designed to provide an improved combination of aligner forces and patient comfort" according to Realine.
The likelihood of an allergic reaction is very low. If you do experience any itching, swelling, hives, shortness of breath, heart palpitations, sweating, nausea or any other adverse reactions to the Realine trays, you should immediately discontinue use of the aligners. Allergic reactions should be reported to Dr. Meyer immediately, and he will report to Realine.
